The U.S. food industry legally uses many ingredients banned in other countries. Existing apps rely on barcode scanning, limiting their effectiveness, and often provide biased "health scores" influenced by corporate partnerships. Consumers needed an unbiased, comprehensive tool to identify potentially harmful ingredients.

SOLUTION

I developed IngrediAlert, an independent ingredient analysis app that puts transparency first. Using advanced computer vision and custom OCR preprocessing, the app can scan any ingredient list, regardless of packaging format, and instantly identify ingredients banned in other countries.
